At the beginning of January, you were probably really excited about the new year! It feels like a fresh start and a perfect opportunity to implement some new habits into your life.
Most of us love setting new year’s goals. However, coming to the end of the month, when all the excitement is gone, you probably started thinking that you might struggle to achieve all your resolutions.
You are not alone! In fact, 92% of people NEVER hit their New Year’s Goals!
Only 8% do!
In today’s blog post, we want to encourage you to become committed to your goals, so you won’t end up in that 92%!
Setting unrealistic resolutions is one of the reasons why your New Year’s resolutions fail. That’s why, before implementing any of those tips, we would highly encourage you to revaluate your goals. A goal should be ambitious, aligned with your values and specific. We have a whole separate blog post where I share with you 7 tips you can use to assess your current business goals. You can read it here. If you decide that your new year’s goals are achievable, then keep on reading! Here are my 3 tips that will help you be in the 8% of people that achieve their goals:
1. DO the work
“A living is made from 9-5, a fortune is made after 5!”
You need to be prepared to do extra work. So many people ask me how I succeed so fast. And here is what I say, “It took 12 years of committed work in order to have 1 year of RECOGNISED success”.
I worked for 16 hours every day, sacrificed to save, sell and invest. I didn’t even go on holiday for 10 years! It might not be the only way to succeed BUT you must be prepared to fully commit to your goal and do the work!
What I highly recommend you do, is to use a planner and dedicate each part of the day to work on your new goal. Having it written in a calendar will keep you more accountable and allow you to stay on target every day.
My “Goal Setting Planner for Champions” (found here) is an excellent tool that will help you achieve your goals and stay on track in 2022. This planner gives you a clear system you can use to achieve more growth. I suggest using it in daily, monthly, and in 90-day slots.
I’ve used this planner to build large sales teams of thousands of people around the world over the last 15 years. My team uses it too, so everyone is well aware of their tasks and what everyone else in the team is doing.
If you’ve always wanted to create more structure in your life, then this “Goal Setting Planner for Champions” is for you! You can order it here.
2. Break your goals into chunks
I will always encourage you to dream big and set the bar high but sometimes ambitious goals might feel overwhelming. If you don’t know how to even start working towards your BIG Goal, I would encourage you to break it down into actionable steps. This way, you will create a structure that you can hold up to.
I live and work in 90-day slots and create massive success by breaking my time down into chunks every day, to every working hour of that day. Remember to be realistic when you assign time slots for each task and always put them into your calendar.
I am a big fan of to-do lists and I create one for me and my staff each week/day/month so we can all stay on track.
3. Hire a mentor or coach
Coaching provides you with the unique experience of learning from someone else’s mistakes and drawbacks. The right coach will not only motivate you to achieve your goals but also help you reach your full potential.
Most successful entrepreneurs and company directors have said that coaching was paramount to their success. Someone who has had the experience and work ethic who can teach you how to do it BIGGER & FASTER. The right coach will provide you with expert knowledge in the industry and create a structured plan for you to work towards.
If you’re looking for executive business coaching that will provide a blueprint for success through leadership and immediately actionable ideas, you can trust me to guide you toward the future you deserve.
I partner with clients in a thought-provoking and creative process that inspires them to maximise their personal and professional potential, to Live Like a Champion.
