The principles of business are all the same. Having the right team in place, the right structure, the right mind set, the right sales and marketing team and belief in your brand, product or service is all that matters.

 

1.  STUFF HAPPENS… DEAL WITH IT!

At my Event of Champions® events, I have learnt to not take myself too seriously, stuff happens so just get on with it. Don’t read the comments, don’t listen to the negatives, empower your mind daily and have only positive minded people around you always. It creates a shield when the tough times come, because they will come.

 

2.  MIND YOUR OWN BUSINESS

One major thing experience has taught me is to Mind My Own Business – my mother’s words. Focus on what generates the most money, creates the most lasting experience for your guests and clients and block out what other people are doing/saying, period! Also, I’ve learnt that you cannot worry about what other people will say, tomorrow always comes and it always gets better, though you can’t always see it when you’re in it.

 

3.  3 QUESTIONS TO LIVE BY

With my Event of Champions® brand, I teach one top tip all entrepreneurs need to adopt to have a balanced life, especially women. You want to ask yourself three questions when faced with every business decision or situation:

  1. Is it URGENT? – do you have to deal with it right away?
  2. Is it IMPORTANT? – it must be dealt with but it’s not urgent.
  3. Can it WAIT? – can it wait until you have time to do it?

In the modern age of technology, we tend to treat every message, email or text as urgent when it is not. This one principle will free up time you never thought you had and give you huge balance in your career, business and family life.

 

4.  ASK FOR HELP

You don’t have to pretend to be so strong all the time. My mantra is ‘ask for help, not because you are weak, but because you want to become strong’. Sometimes as you juggle family life and business it can get overwhelming however, don’t feel inadequate or incompetent if it’s not all falling into place, it’s normal because as you pay attention to one thing, the other suffers, it’s normal, deal with it and just keep moving. 5.  YOU’RE NOT COMPETING WITH ANYONE

Don’t think you are competing with anyone. Too many people feel they are competing with others so they tend to shrink or pull back. You’re not competing with anyone but your own mind. At my Event of Champions® which has launched in Canada and London and launching in Trinidad, Malaysia, Australia & Europe in 2019, I see my brand as universal and don’t think for one minute this is just for men, I provide a service in teaching entrepreneurs to scale their business and that’s that.

 

6.  YOU’RE IN BUSINESS FOR PEOPLE

Lastly, women, your business is not just for women (except if it is). Some women feel, and I have come across this when I mentor executive women to scale their businesses, that the only people who’ll listen to them, buy their products or services or want to collaborate with them is other women. NOT AT ALL. If your brand or product services both men and women, then sell to both men and women. If you feel you can’t do it, then come to me as a mentor and I will show you how or just hire someone to do it, plain and simple but don’t short change yourself because you perhaps feel inferior. Your product or service isn’t I’m sure!

 

7.  JUST DO THE WORK

While others think about it, I just do it. As I say to my audience across the world, ‘Create Your OWN Reality’ – whatever reality that may be to you. You will be ridiculed at first, perhaps even told it won’t work but you should be BOLD if your brand or product speaks change, bold to bring it to the ones who need it now, bold to do it regardless.
